August 2025 Trails Talk
WEST OKOBOJI CONNECTION & PLAC LOOP TRAIL OPENINGS
Two exciting additions to the Iowa Great Lakes Trails system were celebrated in late July with ribbon cuttings at West O Beer and the Pearson Lakes Art Center. The West Okoboji Connection and the PLAC Loop Trail were made possible through the collaboration of local city partners, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, all working together to expand trail access and enhance community connectivity.
These new trail segments not only improve the overall network, but also create opportunities to enjoy nearby amenities, from local dining to arts and cultural experiences. Whether biking, walking, or running, trail users are encouraged to explore these beautiful new paths and experience unique destinations along the way.
