August 2024 Trails Talk
TATANKA SKA TRACE TO
LAKE PARK NOW OPEN
The DCTB is excited to announce that the trail connection from Lake Park to Spirit Lake is now officially open. Rain early in the summer delayed completion of the last segment but there are still plenty of days left in the season to enjoy this beautiful and peaceful 11.5-mile ride between Tatanka Ska Trailhead in Spirit Lake and downtown Lake Park.
We invite everyone to join us in Lake Park for a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Monday, September 2. After we celebrate this long awaited trail connection there will be a casual bike ride to the trailhead in Spirit Lake and back to Lake Park.
2024 SPORTSMAN’S TIKI
RIDE A HUGE SUCCESS
Above: Sportsman’s Pub, along with several Tiki Ride volunteers, present DCTB representatives Yvonne Taylor, Erin Reed and Kim Norby with a check from the 2024 Tiki Ride.
The Tiki Ride keeps growing and the 10th anniversary proves that as the most successful yet bringing in nearly a thousand riders, and with matching grant funds, proceeds will garner over $36,000 for Dickinson County Trails. Next year’s Tiki Ride will be on August 2 and the Sportsman’s crew is already working hard to continue making the ride bigger and better. The DCTB thanks Sportsman’s, their staff and the many volunteers that work so hard to make this fun event a huge success.
