April 2024 Trails Talk

HOPE ROLLS DONATES GIFT
OF OUTDOOR RECREATION

Founded in 2019, Hope Rolls – Dickinson County provides adaptive tricycles to children who are unable to ride traditional bikes. The DCTB collaborates with the nonprofit during our summer fundraiser and recently we were delighted to be a part of presenting new wheels to Bennett at Spirit Lake Elementary School.

Over the last few years, Hope Rolls has gifted 13 adaptive tricycles and an adaptive bike trailer to fourteen amazing kids and their families in Dickinson County. Founding member Maria Mellmann said, “We’ve had overwhelming support from our community and we could not change these kids’ lives without that. Many volunteers in all forms have helped us over the last four years and we cannot thank them enough!”

The DCTB is honored to help raise awareness and be a part of this fun adventure. The gift of outdoor recreation not only brings joy to the children that receive an adaptive tricycle but their family and friends as well. We cannot wait to see them out on the trails! Please visit the Hope Rolls Facebook page to find more information on what they do and how to support their mission.
