Quinn Dodds with Milford Boy Scout Troop #170 spent Saturday November 3 installing E-911 signs along the West Okoboji Trail.  The project is part of the work he is doing to earn his Eagle Scout Rank.  Several other scouts from the Milford troop also helped Quinn get the signs placed.  The E-911 signs identify locations on the trail every 0.2 miles so that trail users can notify dispatch personnel of their location in case there is an emergency.  Quinn worked with Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret to implement the project that is part of DCTB’s plans to improve signing of the entire trail network.  Thank you Quinn and the Milford Boy Scouts for your hard work!

ENJOY THE THANKSGIVIING HOLIDAY ON THE TRAILS: Getting out and enjoying nature on the Dickinson County Trails is a great way to work off some turkey over the holiday weekend.  There will also be a  couple of events to get you out on local trails including the Dickinson County Nature Center’s Native Thanksgiving Hike on Wednesday, November 22 and the Bedell Family YMCA’s Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving Day. Check their websites or Facebook pages for details.

Happy Thanksgiving and as always, Happy
Trails to You and Yours.
